Kara's First Haircut

Friday (March 11, 2011), Kara decided to play with her Zhu Zhu pet. She was bending over to play with the toy and her hair got caught in the wheels. I tried to pull it out. It wouldn't come out easily. I had to cut it. She wouldn't hold still for me, so the first cut was very uneven. I took her to a salon Monday to even it out. She had to cut one more inch. The cut is growing on me. I miss her long locks since it was halfway down her back.

I wanted a better picture, but my camera broke and Im stuck using my cell phone camera for now.

Jesus Loves Me

Kara loves to cuddle at night before she falls asleep. Another thing she wants is me to sing to her. Her two request are Jesus Loves Me and Rock A Bye Baby. (We change baby to Kara.) Every night, I sing to her and watch her fall asleep. I always tear up during Jesus Loves Me.

Im in the process of looking for a toddler devotion book we can read before bedtime. If anyone has suggestions, I would love to hear it.

My prayer is that her love for Jesus grows as she gets older. I am not perfect. I just hope she will always know that I try by best and she can see Jesus through me.

Birthday Parties

It's the season for birthday parties. It seems we have a birthday party to attend three out of the next four weeks.

Kara was invited to a party of a little girl. My mom works with her mom. Because no one attended a baby shower thrown by this lady, my mom felt she needed to attend a birthday party. It was a cowboy themed party. There were small ponies for the kids to ride. Kara was too scared to get near them. Kara attempted to break the pinata and got angry when she didn't. I had Kara dressed in a cowboy hat, cowboy shirt and jeans, but she refused to wear a diaper and had an accident before we left the house. It didn't matter anyways, the weather was too cool for Kara not to wear a jacket. At least, I tried to keep up with the theme. :)

Happy Birthday, Great Grandma Popsicle

This past weekend Kara and I headed to Asheboro to celebrate my grandma's birthday. It was fun for all. Kara got to play with her cousin, Caleb. At first, she would let him boss her around. She finally got fed up with it and screamed at him. They both came up with plans to "run away" and suceeded many times.

Changes....

I decided to make this blog just for updates on Kara. Im hoping to do a better job in writing about her life, so we can both go back and read when she gets older.

Im going to have a new blog for my thoughts. As soon as I get it established, Im going to post the link.

Kara's Potty Progress

She is completely potty trained at home. Well, except for at night. That's something else we need to work on.

I am enjoying only using 1 diaper a day on her. Its saving me money.

Our next step is to work on going out in public and her telling me she has to use the potty. We went out once and she failed to tell me. I know she won't tell anyone in the church nursery. Im going to have to make sure they ask her and carry her to the potty every 30 min or however that works. At home she just goes to te bathroom without saying anything. I know her telling me or anyone else she needs to go is going to be an issue.
