when you hear, "Just how many blogs do you read?"

Those were the words from Jeff, the other day when I was telling him about various events I read about.

Maybe one of these days, I will have time to sit down and actually figure out how to make my blog prettier.

Just a side note: Please pray for Autumn's grandmother. She has liver failure and is jaundice. She also has failing kidneys. She was in the local hospital here in Greensboro. They are moving her to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem on Sunday. Greensboro doesn't have the specialists she needs to help her.
More importantly, please pray for her salvation.

My Little Roly Poly

Kara is at that age where learning for her is an adventure. She finally figured out how to roll across the room to get what she wants. She has been rolling from side to side for a few weeks Every morning, I would hear her "knock" around in her crib. When I would go check on her she would be laying on either side.

Normally, during work hours I have Kara in her bouncer. She is getting to big for it. Today, I decided to spread her toys on a blanket on the floor and let her have her tummy time. Little did I know she didn't want tummy time. As soon as I put her down, she rolled on her back. A few minutes later, she was rolling from side to side. She soon learned she could hold her rabbit while laying on her back. I was listening to her talk and squeal with delight. Almost 30 min. later, Kara has managed to scoot and roll to the other side of the office. Its amazing to watch her learn new things everyday. I love watching the big smile on her face when she does something new.

Now, Kara is fast asleep. All that rolling and playing wore her out. She missed her 2:30 bottle from all the playing. I just hope she isn't too grumpy when she wakes up.

My Not Me Monday

I got this from Tara and another blog. I love reading other people's confessions or what nots.


I DID NOT get aggravated with Jeff on Saturday after he picked out a bottle of colonge only to have me return it 15 min later because the smell aggravated him.

I DID NOT love spending time alone with Jeff on Sunday morning.

I DID NOT get blue icing dye and icing all over my kitchen while decorating a cake.

I DO NOT secretly watch our guilty pleasure without Jeff every week and then watch it later on and act like I haven't seen any thing.

No Heat

On the coldest day of the year, our heat decides to break. We woke up this morning to the house being 69 degrees, only 2 degrees colder than our usual. Normally, the pilot light is out and all we have to do is reset it. I only wish it was that simple. We call our guy at 10:00am letting him know our heat is out. He says, "okay, I will be there in an hour." Three hours later, he decides to show up and informs us, we won't have heat until Monday. Not words you want to hear when you have a baby in the house. He says the shop he uses will not be open until Monday. All we need is a switch to turn the ignitor on. We can't figure out why he can't go to Lowes or the Home Depot. I know everyone thinks they deserve special treatment, but we have a 5 month old. I think that should push us to high priority.

Anyways, Kara has been bundled up all day, with the exception of her socks. She will not keep them on. We have a small space heater in the living room. Kara is sleeping on the loveseat and I am on the couch. Tomorrow we are going to my mom's.

5 Months Old

Kara turned the big 5 months today. She is growing so fast. We both wish she would stay little forever. We know it cannot happen but it never hurts to wish. Its an exciting month for us. Kara is still finding her voice and she has recently started to squeal. Its not at the point were its loud. I don't know if I am looking for that day. Its funny to watch her move her mouth to make noise. Most times, she starts out but she never finishes and goes back to an old noise she knows she can do. She has learned while laying on her back or tummy she can scoot her way around the blanket. Where and how I put her is always different if I turn my head for a few seconds. She prefers me over anyone else. If someone talks to her, she looks at me. Its kinda like she is checking with me to make sure this person is "safe". She prefers her orange and yellow veggies over the green. I don't blame her on that one. She loves all kinds of fruits. She is also growing teeth fast. She has 3 bottom. Her top one came in 2 weeks ago, and now she has two more coming up top. I guess this little girl wants to make sure she gets to eat meat!

Love this!

I love this Fisher Price Ocean Wonder play mat. I have been eyeing this thing for months. I researched this for hours and decided this was what I wanted for Kara. It folds up small for easy transportation and its easy to wash. Unlike other playmats, I looked at, Kara can use this for months. It can be used for tummy time, back play and turns into a tunnel for when she starts to crawl. The toys are also detachable. On many occassions, I have removed one of the fish to play music for her when we go on road trips.

Kara seems to love it. She talks to the fish and herself in the mirror. She has strong legs and loves to kick the ball. She plays with this toy for hours. I watch her smile at the fish and at herself. I made a good decision.

I am so glad I decided to exchange the playmat she got for Christmas for this one. As soon as I find my camera I will post a picture of her playing.

Baby Food Adventure

This weekend, I decided to give Kara some carrots. She has done so well with the rice cereal, I thought she could use more variety. I wasn't prepared for the mess. For some odd reason, she feels the need to suck her thumb after each bite. Maybe she thinks she still has to suck instead of swallow. The pictures below show the mess.

The final result was a very messy baby:

For now on, we are going to feed her in the highchair.
