LSU vs UNC

Jeff's sister in law had the chance to watch last weeks practices in Greensboro. Being both a UNC and LSU fan, she had a hard decision to make.

Jeff and I were happy with her choice. Steven got to spend a little time on the court with the LSU players.

Sick Little Monkey

Kara got her first cold this past weekend. It started Saturday with congestion in her chest. I kept Vicks Baby Rub on her feet, (An older lady that works with Jeff, gave us that advice earlier in the year) hoping it wouldn't progress. Sunday morning, Kara woke up with a fever, severe chest congestion, and watery eyes. She kept her fever all day. I called her pediatrician for advise. He wanted to see her to rule out any type of infection. Monday morning, I worked for 3 hours and then headed to the doctor. Luckily, she only has a cold and nothing serious. But I have to keep an eye on her and if she starts any odd behavior, I need to call the office again.

Kara started to feel better late Tuesday night early Wednesday morning. She thought it would be nice to play at midnight and keep playing until 1:00am. We went into Autumn's room so she could roll around and play on the bed while I rested. Yesterday, she was back to her normal self. She still has the nasty cough but its getting better. Today, she is rolling and scooting around the room. Tonight, we are heading to her cousins 7th birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. I wouldn't go but he has been looking forward to seeing her. Since moving, we don't get a chance to see Jeff's sister or his nephew like we used to.

My little mover

She loves eating her puffs. She can only grab them by the fistfulls, but she doesn't give up. They mainly get stuck to her hands because she can't grab items with her pinchers yet.

Kara has also started to do the army man crawl. She gets up on all fours, slides her legs back down and squirms forward using her upper body. I don't think it will be too much longer before she figures out how to use her arms and legs to move. I tried getting a video but she froze and started rolling before I could get the camera out.

Monkeys

Monkeys have invaded our house. It all began when Carter's sent us a free monkey toy after I contacted them with clothing issues. Now, Kara has 5 stuffed monkeys, a monkey sippy cup, and a monkey snack bowl. Kara has also began holding her bottle with her feet. She looks like a monkey when she does it.

Sunshine Filled Day

This past weekend we had lovely, sunny, warm weather. It's a preview of Spring and we cannot wait to enjoy it.

Kara will be 7 months old on Saturday. Her pediatrician gave us the go ahead to let her practice picking up food with her hands. He said she could start eating Cheerios or any other soft food we are eating. I am not too sure if she is ready for the cereal so I bought her Gerber softmelts and the bigger Rice Krispies. She isn't quite sure what to do with the little food yet. She grabs a handful and tries to put it in her mouth. She hasn't figured out how to get food from her fists to her mouth. Most of the food ends up on the floor. She knows how to eat the bigger food and gets the biggest grin on her face when it enters her mouth.

Our Snow Day

Our snow days consisted of staying indoors on Sunday. We spent the day watching Fireproof and reruns of The Golden Girls on the Hallmark channel. Jeff had to work so it was just us girls (Autumn, Kara and me). Autumn is too "grown up" to sit in her pajamas all day and veg out watching TV and movies. She spent the day in our office on the computer. She also spent the day playing Cookie Monster. I went to our second fridge to get something and I noticed she ate all the cookies out of the Lunchables I bought. I still haven't figured out why she never asks me anything or spends time with Kara when her dad is at work. But that's another post for another day.

Last night, after Autumn went home the 3 of us watched the snowfall through the window. We went to bed around 11:00 P.M. and woke up this morning to a full blanket of snow. Kara didnt' seem to care she still slept until 8:30 this morning. At lunch, I made a snowman for Kara using Bottle Caps, a Twizzler and some river stones from the old fish bowl.

I hope you enjoy our pictures. The blue sky looks so bright compared to the whites on the trees. I wish Jeff didn't have to work. I could have taken pictures with Kara outside. Hopefully, he will come home soon and we can take a few before it gets dark.
