Our Snow Day

Our snow days consisted of staying indoors on Sunday. We spent the day watching Fireproof and reruns of The Golden Girls on the Hallmark channel. Jeff had to work so it was just us girls (Autumn, Kara and me). Autumn is too "grown up" to sit in her pajamas all day and veg out watching TV and movies. She spent the day in our office on the computer. She also spent the day playing Cookie Monster. I went to our second fridge to get something and I noticed she ate all the cookies out of the Lunchables I bought. I still haven't figured out why she never asks me anything or spends time with Kara when her dad is at work. But that's another post for another day.

Last night, after Autumn went home the 3 of us watched the snowfall through the window. We went to bed around 11:00 P.M. and woke up this morning to a full blanket of snow. Kara didnt' seem to care she still slept until 8:30 this morning. At lunch, I made a snowman for Kara using Bottle Caps, a Twizzler and some river stones from the old fish bowl.

I hope you enjoy our pictures. The blue sky looks so bright compared to the whites on the trees. I wish Jeff didn't have to work. I could have taken pictures with Kara outside. Hopefully, he will come home soon and we can take a few before it gets dark.

Update on my little brother

My mom and I made it to Greenville in one piece. I don't really care to ride with people who don't know where they are going. I much rather drive myself but my mom wouldn't let me drive her car. Anyways, we made it to Greenville and luckily the hospital was pretty easy to find. Finding my brother was the hardest part of the trip.

My brother hasn't been able to eat since Saturday. He had air in his esophagus and was unable to keep food or drinks down. He thought he had the flu but thankfully, he doesn't. He is still in the hospital and will be at least until Thursday. He is on IV therapy for his meals and hydration. He will be have another CT Scan on Thursday to make sure he doesn't have a tear. If everything is fine he will be discharged on a soft liquid diet. If not, he will have to have surgery.

We all are hoping and praying he will be able to go home on Thursday. He is missing alot of schoolwork and hopes the professors willing to work with him.

Kara was a tropper. She didn't fuss at all. She was so quiet. We were breaking the hospital rules and staying past visiting hours, Kara decided at that time she would show her uncle how loud she can squeal. We are started laughing. At that time we decided to leave my brother to rest while we ate. Kara let the entire floor know she was leaving the floor by squealing in delight. She is such a ham. I love her so much!

Heading to Greenville

I wish this was a leisure trip.

My phone rang at 6:30 A.M. I knew something was wrong when it was my mom. I thought something happened to my stepfather. This time it was my brother. He had the flu and he tore his esophagus. He is in the hospital. My mom and I are leaving to be by his side. This will be Kara's first long traveling trip and I hope she will be fine. I am sure she will be. She has sat in her carseat while we traveled to Danville.

My new camera

Over the weekend, I purchased a new camera. I have been wanting a new camera since before Kara was born. My old camera took very dark pictures and I had to edit most pictures before I was happy. Even after editing I was still not happy with the quality. So far, I am happy with my new camera. The lighting is wonderful. I don't have to edit too much. With the old camera, I would never be able to share a picture of Albino, our pet betta.

The return of the Paci

Kara hasn't used her paci for months. I want to say its been since October since she used it. She rather chew on her hands, clothing or blankets. I was surprised when I came into the room and saw her with it. I gave it to her to play with and it ended up back in her mouth before she fell asleep.

Here are some random pictures. Every morning Kara wakes up with a smile. This morning I caught her twisted in her crib peeking out through the rails.

This afternoon, while I was working she was playing on the blanket with her toys, rolling around and squealing. I noticed it got quiet. I glanced over my shoulder and found her on the carpet playing with a box she found:

Okay, now I am happy

I finally had a free moment to sit down and actually make my blog over. For now, I am pretty happy with it. I have a feeling after I play around with more templates and headers I will be changing. At least now it has personality.

Household news:
Kara will be 6 months on Feb. 15. We go have her 6 month well check on the 18th. More shots and questions for the pediatrician. Besides rolling all over the house, she has started practicing the crawling position. She will stay on her hands and knees for five min. or more. She has started to notice foods and I have started to feed her when we sit down for our meals. If she doesn't get food in her belly, we don't have a peaceful meal. She has also started to become independent. She doesn't like to be held like she used to. She wants to play in her jumperoo or roll all over the house. My little baby is growing up. Her first birthday will be here before I know it.
