Kara's Mini Garden Part One

Kara loves dirt, plants, and flowers. She is always planting a garden with sticks and pots of dirt. She has a green thumb. One plant she was tearing up at my grandma's house, grew 10 times its size in 2 weeks.

A few weeks ago, I got her two greenhouse planters. One cucumber and one tomato. We planted her "garden" on Wednesday afternoon. I checked the greenhouses Friday night to see if the seeds needed water. They were fine. I was checking email and something told me to check them tonight.

I was amazed to see the progress of her cucumber plants. She has 5 sprouts popping up. I hate I didn't photograph the progress from day 1. Her tomato plants haven't sprouted, yet. Hopefully, they will in the next few days.

Kara Meets Dora

This past weekend, a local radio station had an Easter Egg hunt. They had Dora and other activities for the kids. Kara had a blast and wanted to meet her all day long.

The highlight of Kara's day was meeting Dora. She got so excited when she saw her walking around. Then it was time to wait in the very LONG line and wait. Kara had a hard time not running up and breaking in line. She finally got to see her and hug her for 2 seconds (it seemed).

Look what I found

I never knew how much Kara resembled me until I came across some baby pictures of myself. She has always resembled my brothers and sister in thier baby pictures. I've always had to do double takes when looking through old albums.

K-A-R-A-R and Other Things

That's how Kara spells her name. I ask her how to spell her name. I see the wheels start turning and she yells "K". She waits for me to say "A" then she is off saying "R A R". I laugh and she giggles. She has became a back seat driver, letting me know when I can stop and go. She says, "Mommy, the red means you need to stop!" and "Mommy, the green means you need to go, NOW!" She loves going to church to play with her friend, S. We pull in the parking lot and gets so excited. She runs looking for S and if she isn't there yet we have to wait in the lobby for her. For now, its only her and S in her Sunday School class/nursery. Since S is older than Kara, they will be seperated when S turns 4. I'm hoping Kara will be able advance with her (even if we do get more toddlers).

Happy Spring!

Not much to report. Kara had a very low key weekend.

Our apartment complex had a neighborhood party sponsered by a local church. They had live music, hotdogs, facepainting and balloon animals. They also had tables of clothes for infants-adults. Ladies just kept bagging up clothes for Kara. I don't think I will need to go shopping for winter clothes. I told them she would be wearing a size 5. Im not sure on how fast she will grow. She has outgrown her 3T dresses and some pants. Size 4Ts are the right length but are too big in the waist and chest area.

After being there for an hour, Kara was getting bored and wanted to go back home. After that her MawMaw picked her up so I could get a break. I spent the day cleaning. It was so much easier not having a "helper"

Now with the warmer weather, Im looking forward to getting out. We have a trip planned for the zoo in April. I'm hoping my camera is fixed by then.

Kara's First Haircut

Friday (March 11, 2011), Kara decided to play with her Zhu Zhu pet. She was bending over to play with the toy and her hair got caught in the wheels. I tried to pull it out. It wouldn't come out easily. I had to cut it. She wouldn't hold still for me, so the first cut was very uneven. I took her to a salon Monday to even it out. She had to cut one more inch. The cut is growing on me. I miss her long locks since it was halfway down her back.

I wanted a better picture, but my camera broke and Im stuck using my cell phone camera for now.

Jesus Loves Me

Kara loves to cuddle at night before she falls asleep. Another thing she wants is me to sing to her. Her two request are Jesus Loves Me and Rock A Bye Baby. (We change baby to Kara.) Every night, I sing to her and watch her fall asleep. I always tear up during Jesus Loves Me.

Im in the process of looking for a toddler devotion book we can read before bedtime. If anyone has suggestions, I would love to hear it.

My prayer is that her love for Jesus grows as she gets older. I am not perfect. I just hope she will always know that I try by best and she can see Jesus through me.
